Vision testing is a major part of any eye exam. Your doctor will sit you in a darkened room and look at each eye. Many times the doctor is looking at the shape of your eye to determine if you have problems with myopia or hyperopia. You might also be asked to read an eye chart. During the eye exam, the doctor will put a patch or cover a specific eye to determine if there is a problem with your right or left eye.
